Increase your efficiency of WordPerfect for Windows by 50 percent or more Automate tasks to save time and money Write letters, memos, and other documents in seconds, not minutes Customize WordPerfect with your own easy-to-create task menus -- touch a key and you're off Add features and flexibility to WordPerfect that its developers forgot Assemble documents (contracts, wills, reports, etc.) using easily customizable menus Gain back speed and efficiency with shortcuts around slow WordPerfect functions
What 201 PowerMacros Collection is All About201 PowerMacros is a set of commercial-grade macros designed to enhance your productivity and efficiency of WordPerfect. You get over 200 macros that make WordPerfect easier and simpler to use, while at the same time giving WordPerfect extra features and capabilities it didn't have before. Many of the macros are ideally suited to the legal trade.
A number of macros included with the 201 PowerMacros collection are full applications -- not simple recorded macros. It could take you months of development time if you were to write these macros. And if you were to pay a programmer to create these macros for you it might cost thousands of dollars ($13,000 to be exact, assuming five weeks of development time at $65 an hour!). Clearly 201 PowerMacros represents a significant value!
For your added benefit, all macros contain full source code. None of the macros in 201 PowerMacros have been "stripped"! This means you can view or study the macros as you please, or edit the macros to customize them exactly the way you want.
What You'll Find in 201 PowerMacrosHere are just some of the macros included in 201 PowerMacros. Each macro is provided with documentation. Space limitations prohibit listing all of the included macros here.
![]()
Counter -- Insert auto-incrementing numbers for making serialized invoices or tickets -- the number is remembered between documents. You can even "pad" the numbers with zeros or other characters, so they appear as 00001, 00002, etc. Includes an "authoring tool" for setting up counters in your documents.
![]()
MacMenu -- Create your own menus for running other macros, opening or inserting files, running merges, launching programs, or choosing styles. No macro coding is necessary; make your menus with an exclusive menu-making "wizard."
![]()
Template -- Extend WordPerfect's template system with an unlimited number of prompts, choice of single- or multiple-line entry, and the ability to duplicate data in as many places in the document as you want (all three are impossible with WPWin's templates). Also lets you chose to merge/insert into an existing document.
![]()
Project -- Create lists of common projects and the files contained in them. When you want to work on those files, select the project, and all the component files are opened for you. The files need not be stored in the same place -- or even the same computer!
![]()
Nextfile -- Automatically assign a "serialized" number to a filename, such as smith.001, smith.002, etc.
![]()
StoreAndRecall -- Store up to nine common phrases, of any length and with any formatting, for instant recall. Review the list of stored phrases and insert the one you want. Or press Ctrl+# (1 through 9) to insert the phrase automatically. All formatting is retained!
![]()
Closings -- Like StoreAndRecall, a separate macro that holds up to nine complementary closings for letters, including a signature block containing any number of lines and characters. All formatting is retained!
![]()
Longdate -- Pick one of several common "spelled-out" date formats. The current date -- or a date you specify -- is then inserted for you, such as "the twenty-first of September, 1999." The macro can even be modified to use your own custom spelled-out date formats!
![]()
DaysFuture -- Calculate the exact date X days in the future (or past), and insert that date in most any format you wish. Use the handy dialog box to specify if you wish to skip weekends. A separate macro calculates the date X months in the future/past.
![]()
FavFiles -- Display your own list of commonly used files to open or insert. Much faster than WPWin's file dialog boxes, and you can include files from different directories, disks, or networked computers.
![]()
ProcessFiles -- Repetitively run any macro with any and all files in a specific directory (print, make a format change, anything). You specify the path and "wildcard" pattern for the files you want to use, as well as a macro you've previously recorded.
![]()
Change -- Replace any format with one or more other formats. Example: use to change WordPerfect's redlining (shows poorly in faxed documents) with another format, such as single- or double-underline
![]()
FastMac -- Run any macro without displaying a dialog box. The fastest way to run a macro by name. No more waiting for WPWin's file dialog box to display. Works and looks just like the Alt+F10 macro play feature in WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS!
FastFile -- Same as FastMac, but for opening a file. (Similarly, FastIns lets you type the name of a file to insert, without having to wait for a file dialog box to appear.)
![]()
Resume -- Write and format a rèsumé using a number of styles.
![]()
Gender -- Automatically insert proper gender and singular/plural word forms, for multiple parties. The macro inserts the proper he/she/they/them (and other forms) as appropriate. Comes with an authoring tool.
201 PowerMacros also comes with a wide variety of utilities and text formatting tools, for such jobs as creating miniature databases for direct use in WPWin; automatically applying block protection to headings and the text that follows; changing the case or formatting of selected text; converting numbers to spelled-out text or dollar amounts; marking text with a minimum of steps for making an index or table of contents; applying paragraph numbering and bullets emulating the WPDOS 5.1 method, and many, many more -- over 175 additional macros not listed here.
Last but not least, 201 PowerMacros comes with a variety of calendar macros, for creating one calendar per page, year-at-a-glance calendars, daily schedules, even a handy fold-up pocket weekly calendar.
201 PowerMacros does not contain shareware or freeware macros written by others. All macro applications contained in the collection are by Gordon McComb, one of the world's foremost experts in WordPerfect and WordPerfect macros. (Note: Some of the macros have been published previously by the author in his books and/or magazine articles written by him, and/or offered for download at the author's Web sites. However, over two-thirds of the macros are new and exclusive, and most of those that have appeared previously have been enhanced and updated for the 201 PowerMacros collection.)
About the Creator of 201 PowerMacrosThe 201 PowerMacros collection is developed by Gordon McComb, a nationally recognized expert on WordPerfect. He is the world's leading author on WordPerfect macros. Gordon wrote WordPerfect 5.1 Macros and Templates, winner of the prestigious PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award, and the Best Product-Specific book award from the Computer Press Association. Gordon has been a contributing editor to WordPerfect for Windows Magazine, where his monthly columns have helped thousands of WordPerfect users.
Gordon has consulted on the use of macros and office automation to many of the largest software firms in the world, including Corel, Novell, WordPerfect Corp, Microsoft, Symantec, Borland, and many others. About 95 percent of the macros in 201 PowerMacros work in all three 32-bit versions of WPWin (7, 8 and 9). The other five percent work only in WPWin 8 or 9, and a small few work only in WPWin 8 (bugs in the current release of WPWin 9 prevent these macros from working properly). These macros are so identified in the documentation. Please specify whether you are using WPWin 7, 8, or 9; we'll send you a disk with the macros pre-compiled for that version. 201 PowerMacros is not recommended for use with WPWin 6.1 and WPWin 7 (16-bit).
